As I write this, the concept of a country-wide lockdown, self-isolation, or movement control, is no longer an alien concept to most. We’re starting to see

MCO MEALS & COPING . . We’re entering Day 7 of the Movement Control Order (MCO) here and that basically means we stay home, restrict our movements outside and practice social distancing. We do what we can as much as we can to try and stem this pandemic. And we all cope differently. . . Staying at home isn’t much of a problem for me. I’ve been working from home for a few years (I share on the blog how to deal with it if it’s your first time) and I’m pretty much a homebody. I don’t go out very much so I may have adjusted to this a little better than some. . . My way of coping is to cook. I understand people who order in. It’s a viable option and it keeps businesses afloat. But I’ve always preferred to eat in even in good times, and While I’ve ensured my fridge and freezer are stocked, I have been playing a little game of “How far can I go with as few ingredients as possible” with my meals. I get a little inventive and I’m not sure my MCO mate enjoys it all 🤣 I honestly have no idea how long this will be for. The govt says till April 1 but if other countries have taught us anything, it’s that the longer we stay in and away from each other, the slower the virus will spread and the less chance of infection we will face. Personally, I’m bunkering down. Just being honest. . . So I’m cooking (I share my meals on IG stories – and saved in highlights under #MCOMeals) and some of you have shared yours with me too 😊 Food is a constant. I also have beauty content on the blog, but food is always a constant with me (as you well know! 😝) . . Either way you’re coping, I hope you’re keeping your spirits up. Cook if you like. Don’t if you don’t want to. Stay home. If you’ve been in contact with someone infected, be honest. Don’t risk the lives of our hospital frontliners by lying. Above all, stay safe. We’ll get through this, together ❤️ Now, tell me what your #MCOMeals will be next? 🥰 . . 1) Fried rice with otak-otak 2) Sourdough bread with egg and sausages 3) Rice with tinned fried dace fish and cabbage with mince meat 4) Noodle soup from leftover poached chicken and chicken broth 5) Chicken curry 6) Poached chicken with vege and condiments 7) Hot dogs .
