HBO has released a teaser trailer for Game of Thrones’ eighth and final season, which will premiere in April 2019. The clip is less than a minute long and doesn’t show any actual footage from the upcoming episodes, but that hasn’t stopped some viewers from reading between the lines. Here’s what GoT fans are speculating about next season based on the preview.
starks and targaryens die from white walkers, lannisters die by targaryens. welcome to game of thrones pic.twitter.com/taofwhG8OX

The Stark Wolf and the Targaryen Dragon were also covered in Ice… foreshadowing doom bc of the White Walkers? Season 8 can’t come soon enough. #GotS8 #GameOfThrones

Wolf (Stark) and dragon (Targaryen) either succumb to the ice or learn to control it (the white walkers).
The lion burning is very clear symbolism for Lannister’s being destroyed by Targaryen. https://t.co/qhrbnmPonQ— Vanderlyle (@igarlea) December 6, 2018
Me be like: Oh a new teaser without new images…let see…

It's the part where the ice meets the fire, a wall of dragonglass instantly grows. pic.twitter.com/TFWFcLro01

So beautiful. Ice coming from the North and Fire from the south and colliding is obvious symbolism yet very effective, but the true original stroke of genius is that the collision erupts into obsidian, volcanic rock; a.k.a. dragonglass. Perfect! https://t.co/oYCrIWXN0I

The teaser is gold. Ice & Fire as equally destructive forces, Starks the only ones in their element, burning lion for burning King's Landing, the Wall possibly representing Jon as defense and/or it's made of dragonglass? Can dragonglass destroy zombies as well as dragons? QaA

something of note in that GAME OF THRONES promo… the fire and ice converge and create a new wall. at the trident. pic.twitter.com/Y768BOVjWi

● It looks like there is a dragon glass wall being made at the Neck
● Cersei is going Mad
● Wildfire involved
● There will be a fight at the Neck.
● Wolf and Dragon froze but the Lion burned.. what does this mean?Tease me harder @GameOfThrones #GoTS8 https://t.co/BLX6Su755A

But I think the Interpretation of @TheWindsOfWolvs is right, the Wall of Dragonglass is a metaphor for Jon. He is the Son of Ice and Fire and Dragonglass is called Frozen Fire in the Books. So he has to defeat 3 Threads next Season. Cersei, D@ny, WW.
