The STATES Act, just introduced by bipartisan lawmakers in the House and the Senate, outlines a plan to prohibit federal interference in states with their own legal weed laws by tinkering with the Controlled Substances Act. It could be the biggest marijuana reform bill of the year.
People of good faith – both in the industry and outside of it – are at risk of being a federal felon despite complying with state law. And the cash on the streets is a big public safety and law enforcement concern.
